The First Prefabricated Pier Of The Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge Was Precisely Hoisted

On March 15, the prefabricated pier No. 35 of the right side of the main line bridge, weighing about 3,000 tons, achieved millimeter-level precise docking with the maritime pile foundation. Thus, the hoisting operation of the first prefabricated pier of the Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge (Xiamen section) project was successfully completed, marking that the maritime main line bridge of the project has entered a new stage of assembled construction and started the rapid implementation mode of "land-sea coordination and intelligent assembly" for the project construction. The Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge (Xiamen section) project is constructed by Xiamen Road and Bridge Engineering Investment Development Co., Ltd. It starts from Xiamen Island proper and ends with an interchange connecting to Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport. The Xiang'an Branch Line is also constructed simultaneously. The total route length is about 19.62 kilometers, of which the main line is 17.34 kilometers long and the Xiang'an Branch Line is 2.275 kilometers long.

A total of 85 piers (187 components) along the whole line are prefabricated in the pier prefabrication factory of the project and then towed to the maritime construction site for hoisting. This is another important practice of Xiamen Road and Bridge Engineering Company to improve the project quality by applying the construction technologies of factorization, prefabrication, standardization and greening.

The pier hoisted for the first time is the pier of the non-navigable hole on the east side of Liuwudian Channel Bridge. It is 18 meters long, 13.8 meters wide, 13.4 meters high and weighs about 3,000 tons.

Xiamen Road and Bridge Engineering Company, in conjunction with the construction unit CCCC First Harbor Engineering Company, formed a project team. They used BIM virtual construction technology to build models, simulated the production process, developed and applied technologies such as "high-precision component matching prefabrication" and "concrete crack control" to achieve millimeter-level precision control of the prefabrication of assembled piers. They also introduced digital construction technology and applied mechanized, automated and digital means to upgrade the prefabrication process and management mode.

To solve the problem of pier transportation and ensure the safe movement of piers in all aspects, the project team developed a large intelligent component loading and transportation platform, innovatively adopted the combined process of "4000T longitudinal moving inclined ship rack and dragging system + hydraulic pushing trolley", independently developed an intelligent synchronous control system, calculated the stability of the ship, and precisely transported the prefabricated pier to the No. 9 semi-submersible barge engineering ship for transportation. The towing route of the pier passes through three waterways. The project team comprehensively evaluated the risks of towing navigation, studied safety guarantee measures, and formulated a pier transportation plan under the guidance of units such as Zhangzhou Maritime Safety Administration, Xiamen Maritime Safety Administration and Xiamen Port Pilot Station. Through the precise command of the maritime department, the first pier was successfully towed to the hoisting site.

Maritime hoisting is faced with multiple influencing factors such as wind, waves, tides and bad weather. Xiamen Road and Bridge Engineering Company, together with CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company, equipped the hoisting operation with the largest domestic double-jib luffing crane ship, "Erhang Zhuoyue", to carry out the hoisting task. It also equipped an intelligent auxiliary decision-making system to perceive environmental conditions such as wind, waves and currents in real time, greatly improving the construction efficiency, hoisting precision and safety factor.

During the hoisting process, the project team carried out strict full-parameter rechecks on the size, weight and quality of the prefabricated pier, and comprehensively inspected and debugged the power system and safety devices of the crane ship. They used high-precision sensors and monitoring systems to provide real-time feedback of data. By applying the intelligent positioning adjustment system for extra-large prefabricated piers, the traditional manual adjustment was upgraded to automatic deviation correction by the "maritime digital brain", overcoming the difficult problem of dynamic deviation correction of thousand-ton prefabricated components under the disturbance of surges and achieving "one-time hoisting and precise positioning".

The high-precision hoisting of the first prefabricated pier of the Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge (Xiamen section) project verifies the applicability of the intelligent construction equipment of the project, demonstrates the technical strength of the project team, and provides a standardized technical demonstration for the subsequent continuous installation operation of large-scale prefabricated piers at sea.

As a major national strategic project to implement the principle of "deepening cross-strait integrated development and consolidating the foundation for peaceful reunification", the Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge (Xiamen section) is a crucial move in building the "urban community life circle" between Xiamen and Jinmen. After the entire project is completed and opened to traffic, it will jointly form a new three-dimensional transportation pattern of land, sea and air to Taiwan with Xiang'an Airport and the Xiamen-Jinmen shipping route, which is of great significance for Fujian Province to explore a new path of cross-strait integrated development and build a demonstration zone for cross-strait integrated development.
